VILLA BADOER - CARNET DI VIAGGIO

Sabato scorso, nella Villa Badoer a Fratta Polesine, si è tenuto il vernissage delle due mostre collettive  "Artour" e "Carnet di Viaggio".

Villa Badoer fu progettata da Andrea Palladio nel 1556 ed è stata dichiarata patrimonio dell'umanità dall'UNESCO nel 1996.

Questa villa estremamente elegante è formata da un corpo centrale (caratterizzato da un'ampia scalinata con cui si accede ad un pronao) e da due ali laterali a pianta curvilinea (le "barchesse"). L'interno della villa è finemente decorato da affreschi aventi per soggetto scene mitologiche.

Siamo arrivati a Fratta Polesine nel tardo pomeriggio ed essendo novembre era ormai buio. Questo ha reso il contesto ancora più affascinante.

Dopo aver attraversato il ponte sul canale, ci siamo trovati di fronte questa villa immersa nell'oscurità, ma con il pronao e le barchesse vivamente illuminati.

E' stato sorprendente notare come anche gli edifici circostanti del borgo di Fratta formino un insieme suggestivo ed armonioso, con i portici illuminati come le barchesse e caratteri stilistici che si uniformano e riprendono gli elementi architettonici della villa. Nel buio della sera si respirava  un'atmosfera del tutto particolare, con l'impressione di trovarsi in un luogo remoto e silenzioso, fatto di bellezza ed equilibrio e non ancora toccato dagli eventi caotici del mondo.

Dopo la presentazione delle mostre ed i discorsi delle Autorità, si è svolta l'inaugurazione, seguita da un piacevole rinfresco. Due miei quadri ( IL CASTELLO e KATHMANDU) erano esposti nella collettiva "Carnet di Viaggio".

VILLA BADOER.

Last Saturday, there was the vernissage of the group exhibitions "Artour" and "Carnet di Viaggio" at Villa Badoer in Fratta Polesine. 

Villa Badoer was designed by Andrea Palladio in 1556 and it is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List "City of Vicenza and the Palladian Villas of the Veneto".

This elegant villa has a central structure with a columned pronaos and two curvilinear wings called "barchesse". The interior is decorated with mytological scenes.

We arrived at Fratta Polesine in the late afternoon; it was already dark.

We passed the bridge over the canal and we saw this elegant building; everything was dark but the pronaos and the "barchesse" were brightly lit. Also the surroundings were extremely pleasant because the other buildings were well harmonized with the villa.

FESTA DI COMPLEANNO - THE BIRTHDAY PARTY

Il tema di questo mio quadro è una festa di compleanno. Il titolo potrebbe essere: "E' qui la festa?". La tecnica è acrilico su tela e le dimensioni sono cm 50 x 70.

Un elegante maggiordomo sta portando una bella torta a più piani, tutta decorata.

Solitamente è abituato a ricevere invitati molto formali ed educati, ma questa volta viene sorpreso da un gruppo di persone rumorose e piuttosto strane.

L'invitato vestito in rosso e blu è già parecchio alticcio, tanto che non riesce neppure a reggersi in piedi; se ne sta seduto a terra e continua allegramente a bere.
Poi si presenta una donna vestita come una damina del 17° secolo, perchè questa è la sua idea di eleganza.

IL MAGGIORDOMO

IL GRUPPO DEGLI INVITATI

Accanto a loro si trova un uomo con un bambino sulle spalle. Entrambi indossano strani copricapi e hanno l'aria molto divertita, mentre una specie di Jolly Joker dietro di loro festeggia cantando e mostrando una bottiglia di vino ormai vuota.

Inoltre non può mancare la stellina del cinema, fiera della propria monumentale capigliatura platinata e dell'abito da sera generosamente scollato.

La persona in cima alle scale è una ragazza che rappresenta una figura immancabile alle feste: l'amica educata e organizzata, che si pone il problema di non presentarsi a mani vuote. Ha detto agli altri: "Vorremo mica presentarci senza regalo?" e, come sempre, si è sentita rispondere: "Pensaci tu, poi ci dici quanto hai speso". Per questo motivo adesso ha in mano una scatola avvolta nella carta dorata.

IL BALCONE

Infine ci sono i due tipi affacciati al balcone, convinti che la festa si possa godere di più se vista da una posizione elevata, che permette di lanciare comodamente stelle filanti e coriandoli.

THE BIRTHDAY PARTY

The theme of  this painting is the Birthday Party. The title could be: "Here is the Party?". It's an acrylic painting on canvas (dimensions 50 x 70 cm).

There's a very elegant butler who is carrying a nice cake; he usually welcomes guests who are very formal and polite, but this time he has a big surprise. There's a crowd of  very noisy and strange people.

The guest in red and blue is already drunk and he can't even stand on his feet; he is sitting on the floor and he goes on drinking cheerfully.

Behind him there is a woman. She is dressed like a 17th Century lady because this is her idea of elegance.

Then there is a man carrying a little boy on his shoulders and the baby is really amused. 

A sort of Jolly Joker is singing and showing an empty bottle of wine.

Then there is a movie starlet. She is proud of her blonde hair and she's wearing a generously low-cut black dress.

The last person on the stairs is a young girl who said: "We can't go there without a present" and the other people told her to buy something. So she's taking an elegantly wrapped gift.

A man and a boy have just reached the balcony; they are having toasts and they are throwing streamers and confetti.
