LE CITTA' INVISIBILI: PERCORSI

Ho dipinto un altro quadro (colori acrilici su tela cm 60 x 90) pensando a "Le Città Invisibili" di Italo Calvino. Su uno sfondo uniforme di colore azzurro/verde è tracciato un percorso che si snoda collegando città dalle caratteristiche più svariate. Gli agglomerati urbani sono rappresentati sotto forma di mappe ove spiccano vari elementi: il tracciato ortogonale delle vie, gli orti, i giardini, gli edifici più significativi, le piscine. E' un gioco geometrico e simbolico.

This is another painting (an abstract one) inspired by "Le Città Invisibili" , the famous book written by Italo Calvino.  There  are several geometric figures representing different towns and there is a journey  among them: a road connecting them from the first one at the left top to the last one at the right bottom. The geometric figures are the maps of the cities, with their buildings, gardens, streets.

TRIBALE

Per questo quadro su tela di cm 50 x 50 ho utilizzato dei tessuti "animalier", colori acrilici  e metallici nonchè una fotografia di un leopardo "nebuloso".  Ne è derivato un insieme di carattere geometrico e tribale.

I used "animalier" fabrics, acrylic and metallic colours and a photo of a leopard ("nebulosus") to make this painting on canvas (cm 50x50). The result is a geometrical and tribal composition.

VANITA'

Ho voluto fare un esperimento: elaborare pittoricamente, con colori acrilici e metallici, una fotografia da me scattata ad un pavone che si aggirava in un parco faunistico. Ho circondato il vanitoso volatile di arabeschi e gioielli per simboleggiare gli eccessi della ostentazione; su tutto cala una sottile coltre verde che  allontana e sminuisce tutti questi orpelli. (Acrilico e fotografia su tela cm 50 x 50).

I had the idea to try something new: to use acrylic and metallic colours on a picture of a peacock. I took this picture in an animal  park and the peacock was wandering there (no cage). I painted lots of arabesques and jewels around this picture to symbolize the excess of vanity and ostentation; a subtile green film covers everything to deminish the value of all those tinsels. (Acrylic and photo on canvas cm 50 x 50).

LE CITTA' INVISIBILI: ZENOBIA.

Ho dipinto questo piccolo quadro in colori acrilici su tela (dim. cm 18 x 24) pensando alla descrizione della immaginaria città di Zenobia, una delle "Città invisibili" di Italo Calvino.

Calvino scrive di Zenobia :" benchè posta su terreno asciutto essa sorge su altissime palafitte". Le case, collegate da marciapiedi pensili, sono caratterizzate da molti ballatoi e balconi, tanto da produrre nel loro insieme una sorta di intelaiatura, fatta di sbalzi, di linee orizzontali e verticali che si intersecano. 

In the book "Le Città Invisibili", Italo Calvino describes the fictional town of Zenobia. I made a small acrylic painting after having read this description.

The houses of Zenobia are on stilts. There are many balconies and hanging sidewalks: the result is some kind of framework made by the intersection of horizontal and vertical lines.

PARTECIPO ALLA MOSTRA "TETRALOGIA DA FAVOLA"

Un giorno, ritenendo non più tollerabile la solitudine, il re decise di cercarsi una sposa, facendo affiggere un bando in tutti i regni confinanti con il suo. Giunsero varie dame ansiose di mostrare i loro pregi: c'era chi si vantava di avere una grande cultura, chi si riteneva abilissima nel filare, chi faceva sfoggio di improbabile eleganza. Il re, disgustato da tutto il vociare e da tutti quegli orpelli con cui si erano agghindate le pretendenti, se ne stava triste ed annoiato. Per lui erano tutte uguali, come se sul viso portassero una maschera.

A Fairy Tale - part 2 : THE FEMALE SUITORS

One day, the King decided to look for a wife because he was very sad and lonely. The King posted a notice in all the neighboring kingdoms. Many noblewomen arrived in order to show their qualities. Some of them were proud of their own culture, others were good at knitting, others thought to be the most elegant ones. The King was disgusted by the noise, by their voices, by their strange hats; he was sad and bored. He had no interest in them: to him they were all the same as if they were wearing masks over their faces.

MOSTRA "RUBINO" A MILANO

E' stata inaugurata ieri, presso lo spazio espositivo OROARTSTUDIO a Milano, la mostra collettiva intitolata "Rubino". Partecipo con la mia opera "Vino color rosso rubino".

Yesterday there has been the vernissage of the collective exhibition "Rubino" at the gallery OROARTSTUDIO in Milan. Here is the picture of my painting "Vino color  rosso Rubino"  in the exhibition.

VINO COLOR ROSSO RUBINO

Dal 4 al 29 dicembre avrà luogo all' OROARTSTUDIO di Milano la mostra collettiva intitolata "Rubino". Per questa esposizione ho pensato al significato del termine "rubino", che può indicare non solo la gemma preziosa, ma anche un colore affascinante, allegro e "conviviale". Rosso rubino è infatti uno dei termini con cui viene descritta una delle proprietà del vino e rosso rubino è anche il colore dei semi della melagrana. Nel mio quadro, tra bottiglie preziose e stilizzate, scendono rami di melograni a completare una tavola imbandita a festa.

From 4 to 29 December there will be at OROARTSTUDIO in Milan the collective exhibition "Rubino". I thought that the word "rubino"  indicates a precious stone but also a charming and cheerful color. "Ruby red" is a way to describe the color of a good wine and "ruby red" is the color of the seeds of the pomegranate. My painting (acrylic on canvas, dimensions cm 50x50) depicts stylized bottles and pomegranate branches on a banquet table.
