MOSTRA FOTOGRAFICA "IMAGES 2014"

E' in corso a Biella, nello spazio espositivo del Cantinone, la mostra fotografica collettiva "Images 2014" del FOTOCLUB BIELLA. Il tema di questa edizione è lo sport.

Partecipo con due mie fotografie: una di ciclismo e una di atletica.

A collective photograph exhibition of the BIELLA FOTOCLUB is taking place at the exhibition space " Il Cantinone" in Biella. This year the theme is "Sport".

I show there two pictures about cycling and athletics.

LE CITTA' INVISIBILI: PERCORSI

Ho dipinto un altro quadro (colori acrilici su tela cm 60 x 90) pensando a "Le Città Invisibili" di Italo Calvino. Su uno sfondo uniforme di colore azzurro/verde è tracciato un percorso che si snoda collegando città dalle caratteristiche più svariate. Gli agglomerati urbani sono rappresentati sotto forma di mappe ove spiccano vari elementi: il tracciato ortogonale delle vie, gli orti, i giardini, gli edifici più significativi, le piscine. E' un gioco geometrico e simbolico.

This is another painting (an abstract one) inspired by "Le Città Invisibili" , the famous book written by Italo Calvino.  There  are several geometric figures representing different towns and there is a journey  among them: a road connecting them from the first one at the left top to the last one at the right bottom. The geometric figures are the maps of the cities, with their buildings, gardens, streets.

TRIBALE

Per questo quadro su tela di cm 50 x 50 ho utilizzato dei tessuti "animalier", colori acrilici  e metallici nonchè una fotografia di un leopardo "nebuloso".  Ne è derivato un insieme di carattere geometrico e tribale.

TRIBAL.

I used "animalier" fabrics, acrylic and metallic colours and a photo of a leopard ("nebulosus") to make this painting on canvas (cm 50x50). The result is a geometrical and tribal composition.

ART MARKET BUDAPEST

Il mio quadro "Corsa verso l'infinito"  è stato esposto ad Art Market Budapest

 (8-12 ottobre 2014).

My painting  "The Run Towards Infinity"  was at Art Market Budapest (8th - 12th October 2014).

VANITA'

Ho voluto fare un esperimento: elaborare pittoricamente, con colori acrilici e metallici, una fotografia da me scattata ad un pavone che si aggirava in un parco faunistico. Ho circondato il vanitoso volatile di arabeschi e gioielli per simboleggiare gli eccessi della ostentazione; su tutto cala una sottile coltre verde che  allontana e sminuisce tutti questi orpelli. (Acrilico e fotografia su tela cm 50 x 50).

I had the idea to try something new: to use acrylic and metallic colours on a picture of a peacock. I took this picture in an animal  park and the peacock was wandering there (no cage). I painted lots of arabesques and jewels around this picture to symbolize the excess of vanity and ostentation; a subtile green film covers everything to deminish the value of all those tinsels. (Acrylic and photo on canvas cm 50 x 50).

CORSA VERSO L'INFINITO

In questo quadro (acrilico su tela dim. cm.100 x 40) ho voluto rendere il contrasto tra la ressa  di elementi che si ammassano in una corsa verso l'infinito e la calma del cielo soprastante. La luce violetta del crepuscolo stende un velo di silenziosa quiete sui colori vivi e contrastanti che si raggruppano e si scontrano al di sotto della linea dell'orizzonte.

THE RUN TOWARDS INFINITY

This is an acrylic painting on canvas (cm 100 x 40). There is the contrast between two opposite situations: the rush of various elements towards infinity and the peace of the sky above.

The violet light of dusk spreads a veil of silent stillness on contrasting colours that collide and gather below the horizon line.
