Questa è una mia illustrazione per il libro "Le  Avventure di Gatto Pilvy", scritto e ideato da Giorgio Barchietto. E' un libro per bambini e per amici dei gatti. Durante il loro viaggio ai Caraibi i due protagonisti, Pilvy e Sbillo, fanno la conoscenza della graziosa gattina di una famosa cantante. La cantante li ospita sul  suo yacht.

CATS HOSTED ON THE YACHT

I made this illustration for the book "Le Avventure di Gatto Pilvy" (The Adventures of Pilvy the Cat), written by Giorgio Barchietto. This book is dedicated to children and to people  who like cats. During their journey to the Caribbean the two cats, Pilvy and Sbillo, meet the kitten of a famous singer. This lady hosts them on her yacht.

PARTENZA PER LA CROCIERA

Questa è una mia illustrazione per il libro "Le Avventure di Gatto Pilvy", scritto e ideato da Giorgio Barchietto. E' un libro per bambini e per amici dei gatti. All'inizio del racconto i tre gatti protagonisti (Pilvy, Sbillo e Neige) vengono portati in crociera dai loro padroni. Qui sono sulla banchina, chiusi nei loro trasportini, in attesa di essere imbarcati.

DEPARTURE FOR THE CRUISE

I made this illustration for the book "Le Avventure di Gatto Pilvy" (The Adventures of Pilvy the Cat"), written by Giorgio Barchietto. This book is dedicated to children and to people who like cats. In this chapter the three cats (Pilvy, Sbillo and Neige) are taken on a cruise by their owners. They are  on the platform, waiting to be boarded.

Ho realizzato questa illustrazione per un libro dedicato ai bambini e ad amici dei gatti. 

Un gatto tigrato grigio e un gatto nero, muniti di salvagente rosso, prendono lezioni di nuoto.  Il gatto tigrato è già in acqua, mentre il gatto nero è in spiaggia ed indossa un costume da bagno in stile rétro.

I made this illustration for a book dedicated to children and to people who like cats. A grey tabby cat and a black cat are taking swimming lessons (many red lifebuoys are provided). The tabby cat is already in the waves while the black cat is on the shoreline and is wearing a retro-style swimsuit.

Ho fotografato le foglie rosse dell'acero giapponese fotografate sullo sfondo di un paesaggio nebbioso.

PESCI

Ho pensato di scegliere questo soggetto, i pesci, per realizzare delle figure divertenti. Ho dipinto sul retro di una lastra di plexiglas in modo che, a lavoro finito, la superficie risultasse molto lucida. Il corpo dei pesciolini è realizzato incollando delle stoffe decorative d'arredamento, mentre le scaglie sono rese usando della vernice metallica.

I thought it was an amusing idea to paint very coloured fishes on plexiglas. The body is  a collage made by using decorative fabrics and metallic colours. Plexiglas gives the painting a very glossy surface.

ALBERO DI NATALE 2017

Con questo alberello realizzato a collage e con colori metallici su superficie laccata poliestere, auguro a tutti un felice Natale.

I want to wish a Merry Christmas to everybody and for this reason I have painted this tree using collage and metallic colours on a laqued surface.

MOSTRA FOTOGRAFICA IMAGES 2017

Anche quest'anno partecipo alla mostra fotografica collettiva "Images 2017" del FOTOCLUB BIELLA , che ha luogo dal 3 al 17 dicembre nello spazio espositivo del Cantinone a Biella. Il tema di quest'anno è "Tra Luci ed Ombre". Ho scelto di partecipare con due fotografie scattate a Genova, intitolate:

The collective exhibition "IMAGES 2017" of the FOTOCLUB BIELLA is taking place at the "Cantinone" in Biella from the 3rd to the 17th of December. The theme of the exhibition  is "Between Lights and Shadows" . My two photos represent Genova  at dusk:

MOSTRA FOTOGRAFICA IMAGES 2016

Anche quest'anno ho partecipato alla mostra fotografica collettiva "Images 2016" del FOTOCLUB BIELLA, che ha avuto luogo nello spazio espositivo del Cantinone dal 3 al 18 dicembre. Il tema di questa edizione era: "La città è vita".

Le fotografie esposte erano accomunate dal fatto di essere di "street life" e in bianco e nero. Questa scelta è stata ispirata dalla mostra "Henry Cartier-Bresson. Collezione Sam, Lilette e Sébastien Szafran. La fondazione Pierre Gianadda a Biella" tenutasi nella nostra città nei mesi di marzo e maggio.

Ho scelto di partecipare con queste due fotografie:

"Bundesplatz" scattata a Berna. Due figure corrono sotto la pioggia tra gli spruzzi della fontana: un modo giocoso di vivere la città.
"Prima del ciak" scattata a Bordighera: gli attori si affrettano per recarsi sul set del film "La promessa dell'alba".

The collective exhibition "IMAGES 2016" of the FOTOCLUB BIELLA has just taken place at the "Cantinone" in Biella, from the 3rd to the 8th of December. The theme of the exhibition was "The City is Life" and all the pictures were taken on the street and in black and white. I showed two photographs:
- "Bundesplatz" (in Bern): two people are running under the rain and among the fountain jets;
- "Going to the Film Set" (in Bordighera): some actors are walking in a hurry to reach the set of the film.

ACQUERELLI DI ARCHITETTURA: VILLA PISANI

Questa volta ho voluto scegliere come soggetto per i miei acquerelli di architettura le scuderie di Villa Pisani, raffinata costruzione settecentesca che si trova a Stra, sulla Riviera del Brenta.

                                           

This time I have chosen for my architectural watercolours the stables of Villa Pisani, a  refined eighteenth-century building which is located on the Brenta Riviera.

FOTOGRAFIA: COLORE GIALLO

Dopo il rosso, ecco un'altra serie di fotografie aventi come caratteristica principale un colore dominante. Questa volta ho voluto scegliere il giallo come elemento principale nelle fotografie che ho scattato. Muri, fiori, porte, limoni.

I took some photos based on a prevalent color, in this case yellow: walls, flowers, doors, lemons.

FOTOGRAFIA: COLORE ROSSO

Trovo molto interessanti le immagini che hanno come tema principale il colore. Mi piace scegliere dei particolari e fare in modo che nell'immagine ci sia un solo colore quale elemento dominante. I soggetti possono essere molto vari: carrozzerie di auto, fiori, bacche, ecc. Mi sono cimentata in alcune fotografie di questo tipo, scegliendo il rosso.

I like pictures  in which the main theme is colour. For this reason, I choose details where there is only one dominant colour. There may be many different subjects: car bodies, flowers, berries, etc. I tried to take some pictures of this kind, choosing red as main colour.

CARNEVALE A VILLA PISANI

Uno scenario davvero speciale per una sfilata di Carnevale impreziosita dai bellissimi costumi veneziani: quale migliore occasione per scattare fotografie e cercare spunti per qualche acquerello?

Villa Pisani sorge a Stra, sulla Riviera del Brenta. E' una villa del Settecento costruita su progetto di Gerolamo Frigimelica e Francesco Maria Preti per la famiglia veneziana dei Pisani.
Purtroppo durante il Carnevale non mi è stato possibile visitare internamente la villa, ove si trova anche un affresco di Giambattista Tiepolo, ma sono rimasta affascinata dallo splendido parco caratterizzato da un vasto specchio d'acqua che guida l'occhio verso la raffinatissima facciata delle scuderie. A lato, quasi nascosto da un boschetto, si sviluppa il labirinto di siepi di bosso al cui centro sorge una torretta.

Villa Pisani is a really special scenery for a Carnival Parade with precious venetian costumes: it's a great opportunity to take pictures and search inspiration for some watercolour.
Villa Pisani is in Stra, on the Brenta Riviera. It's a villa of the eighteenth century built on a project by Gerolamo Frigimelica and Francesco Maria Preti for the Venetian Pisani family.
Unfortunately during Carnival it was not possible to visit the inside of the villa, where there is also a fresco by Giambattista Tiepolo, but I was fascinated by the beautyful park. A vast pool lies in front of the very refined facade of the stables.
There is also a  tower in the middle of a maze of box hedges, almost hidden by a grove.
